The roads for the week
Roadworks across Lancashire's motorway network mean motorists should expect ongoing delays this coming week.
READ MORE: One of the most 'beautiful waterfalls in the UK' just a short drive across Lancashire border M6 junction 27 to 28 National Highways is resurfacing the road between junction 27 and junction 28 on the M6. The work will take place on both sides of the carriageway, mainly under overnight lane closures. It will also include replacing road markings, bridge joints and traffic count loops.
"We’re working hard to firm up these dates and will be sharing them once confirmed. To ensure journeys are maintained clearly signed diversion routes will be in place." For the safety of workers and road users, there will be sections of temporary steel lane barriers and a 50mph speed limit throughout the scheme. To reduce the disruption on motorists, work is being carried out overnight when traffic levels are lowest.
