According to National Highways, a lot fewer major roadworks are planned for Lancashire compared to recent months, meaning your journey to and from work may be a lot smoother from Tuesday onwards
As we head into the first of three bank holidays this May, lots of people will be travelling home from a break away or even just popping out for a family day.
Some of the work includes drainage work near Rawtenstall as well as safety barrier replacements on the M65. As always, drivers are being urged to plan ahead if they are travelling on any of these routes.We've put together the information from the National Highways website to help you plan ahead.National Highways will be undertaking drainage and geotechnical works to install an 80-metre long retaining wall, adjacent to the A56 southbound carriageway.
Work will take place Monday to Friday, between 8pm and 6am and will extend to 7am on Saturday morning. Clearly signed diversions will be in place whilst the work is undertaken. Whilst the carriageway is closed, essential resurfacing will occur between the junctions. Once complete, traffic will run smoother and safer along the M6.
