Updates as M65 closed
A section of the M65 is currently closed by Lancashire Constabulary. This is due to an ongoing incident.
The closure is in place between Junction 10 and 11 in both directions. Police shared the following on Twitter: "Please be aware the M65 Motorway is currently closed between junctions 10 and 11 in both directions due to an ongoing police incident.Traffic monitoring system Inrix states that traffic is building in the area as a result.Lancashire Police is currently leading a multi-agency response to a serious incident at J10 which occurred at approximately 4:40pm this afternoon.
Due to the nature of this incident, National Highways are unable to advise when the road is likely to reopen. National Highways have resources in attendance, assisting Lancashire Police with traffic management.
