A major housebuilder has bought land at Boots' headquarters on which it has pledged to continue a project to build more than 600 new homes after the previous developer went bust. The brownfield land within the 286-acre site of Nottinghamshire's largest company off Thane Road will be regenerated by property developer Keepmoat which has confirmed its ambition to build hundreds of "high-quality, multi-tenure new homes" with construction due to be finished in 2029.
Now the future of the site seems assured after Keepmoat completed what it called "one of the most significant land deals of the last decade". Tim Beale, chief executive at Keepmoat, said: “I am incredibly proud that Keepmoat, in particular our East Midlands region led by Tristin Willis, has successfully completed one of the most significant land deals of the last decade, for the delivery of new homes, in Nottingham. It is a fantastic achievement.
"This development will put our East Midlands region, which was established in Nottingham eight years ago, firmly on the map." Keepmoat is currently developing nine other new sites in and around Nottingham, building a total of around 2,700 new homes. The land falls within Nottingham Enterprise Zone, which aims to be the UK’s centre for innovation in life sciences, medical research, health, beauty and wellness. Stephen Boyce, director of estates, Boots UK, added: “This is an exciting development for the Nottingham Enterprise Zone. We look forward to seeing Keepmoat’s vision come to life, developing new high-quality and affordable housing for people in the local area.
