The brains behind the lights... up in lights 😍
Blackpool's famous illuminations are to play a starring role in a new festive special TV programme. A spotlight will shine on the colourful light show for Lighting Up Christmas, which will air in December.
The illuminations will feature alongside a handful of other businesses and venues also making the run-up to Christmas magical for families across the UK with magnificent light displays. They include the Roald Dahl-themed lights in Longleat and the winter trails at Kew Gardens. The programme will head behind the scenes of the country's most celebrated streets, shops, estates and attractions, with Blackpool's Golden Mile lights, curated by designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen taking centre stage.The annual lights have been glowing since the Changing Rooms star officially flicked the switch to them on in September, and they will sparkle until January.
Lightworks, based on Johnson Way in the Fylde coast seaside town, also creates festive lights for a number of other Lancashire towns, including Chorley, Morecombe and Lytham St Annes. The programme's exact air date is yet to be announced.
