RangersWilliam McNaughton, 38, allegedly lashed out at three constables, a sergeant and an inspector in Glasgow city centre's Queen Street on May 15, 2021.fans gathered in George Square and the surrounding areas to celebrate the club winning the Scottish Premiership title.

Court papers state McNaughton initially conducted himself in a disorderly manner by forming part of a crowd. It is claimed he repeatedly threw glass bottles at public order police officers in the execution of their duty.McNaughton is said to have exposed them and members of the public to risk of injury and committed breach of the peace.

McNaughton is claimed to have gone on to assault Sergeant Alan McGowan by throwing a bottle at him which struck him on the head to his severe injury, permanent disfigurement and permanent impairment. Another charge says McNaughton struck inspector John Hamilton on the body to his injury by throwing a bottle.McNaughton denies the five charges at Glasgow Sheriff Court.McNaughton, of the city's Easterhouse, remains on bail meantime for the matter.
