The 68 year-old is also said to have abducted, raped and been violent towards a woman.
Charles Denholm faces a total of 16 charges spanning between 1978 and 2010 at different addresses in North Lanarkshire.This includes claims he tied a thread to door handles to monitor if she opened them while locked inside a property.He finally faces a charge of cruelly ill-treating a number of animals.Prosecutors claim he squeezed a pet mouse to death and caused a dog to die after giving the animal"a quantity of unknown tablets".
Denholm also allegedly shoved the head of another dog down a toilet, and flushed it resulting in its death. He is then accused of ill-treating newly born puppies"by throwing them into an open fire" causing them to die. Denholm, of Newmains, Lanarkshire, denied the accusations via his lawyers during a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow.
