Dudley Payne says he was attempting CPR on the 11-week-old American Bully but did not know what he was doing
Dudley Payne, 29, denies causing intentional harm to the American Bully he had owned for a week. When Payne returned home from work on February 2 he said he opened Rocco's crate. Rocco was 'normal' but was always quite a timid dog, he said. At 8:30pm Payne's grandma called to visit. Payne said the dog was "pottering round the living room", when his Grandma arrived. "I started to give him CPR but he was just lifeless. I thought the best thing I could do was try to give him a chance.
