He changed his plea and admitted causing death by careless driving
A man who has admitted causing the death of an 18-year-old woman following a serious crash will learn his fate next month. It comes after motorist Matthew Ellson has previously denied causing the death of Francesca Bugliarello, of Sandbach.
The 20-year-old, of Church Lane, Wistaston, had been due to go on trial, reports StokeonTrent Live. However on December 6 he appeared at Chester Crown Court where he changed his plea and admitted causing death by careless driving. He is set to be sentenced in January, Cheshire Police said. Francesca, who was also known as Frankie, was killed on the Haslington bypass at around 12.30am on June 13, 2020. She was a passenger in a Vauxhall Corsa which collided with a parked HGV.
Francesca, who had secured a place at the University of Nottingham to study social care, died at the scene. Two other passengers were injured in the crash. Her mum, Rebecca Bugliarello, told CheshireLive last year that they 'still think she is going to come home'. Ellson is due to be sentenced on January 16.
