Pictures taken at the scene showed a red quad-bike inside the cordon on the pavement
Emergency services were called to the scene of the smash on Canal Street, near the train station, at around 8.15pm last night . A police cordon was put in place.

The road was closed off from Inghams Lane to Halifax Road for several hours while investigation work was carried out.
