Two police officers attempting to carry out a traffic stop have been attacked with a knife. Greater Manchester Police was attempting to stop a moped for driving erratically – and it was then involved in a crash in Old Trafford at around 4pm on Wednesday.

The second man, a 26-year-old, is ‘being treated as possibly unconnected to the collision’. A Taser was used during his arrest.
