A man has today been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a shotgun was reportedly blasted through a window near a school in Oldham. Armed police swooped on Broadbent Road on Friday evening after residents reported hearing a 'loud bang'.
A man reportedly shot the weapon twice into the driver’s window of a vehicle on the road before the man, and the victim who was later confirmed to be safe and well and not wanting to pursue a complaint, made off from the scene.Police have now confirmed a 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear. He remains in custody at this time.
Detective Inspector Kathryn Lester, from GMP’s Oldham district, said: “We’re aware this incident caused some concern in the community as a number of people reported to have heard the noise where a shotgun was suspected to have been used.
