Man City allege coins thrown at Pep Guardiola after VAR decision as Liverpool FC issue statement about fan chants
Pep Guardiola said that coins were thrown at him in the aftermath of Manchester City's disallowed goal against Liverpool.
It is then that Guardiola and the club say that the coins were thrown at him, adding another unsavoury incident to a modern rivalry that has spilled beyond the line of acceptability on a few occasions. A few coins were handed to the officials by coaches to highlight the fact that they had been thrown into the dugout.
In a separate incident, Liverpool released a statement saying that they were 'deeply disappointed to hear vile chants relating to football stadium tragedies from the away section' and also condemned graffiti on the same theme.
