Manchester City sold Cole Palmer to Chelsea this summer and the forward has made a bright start under new manager Mauricio Pochettino
Manchester City hero Shaun Wright-Phillips has shared his thoughts on Cole Palmer’s start at Chelsea.
At the start of the season, it seemed as though the 21-year-old could earn a major role in City’s team, particularly given the sale of Riyad Mahrez. Palmer started and scored in the Community Shield before also finding the net in the Super Cup against Sevilla, which the Blues would win via a penalty shootout.
Palmer, though, has already begun to prove any doubters wrong and displayed a significant amount of leadership for Mauricio Pochettino’s team by twice scoring from the penalty spot, most recently against Arsenal at the weekend. Former City and Chelsea winger Wright-Phillips admits that Palmer may have chosen the right path, even if it is difficult to watch him flourish away from Manchester.
