A man has denied causing the death of a woman by careless driving after a crash in Telford.

Justin Jones, aged 43, is accused of causing the death of 73-year-old Susan Leonora Beech after a crash on Halesfield 1 on December 16 last year.

Ms Beech was travelling in a Vauxhall Astra, which collided with a Renault Master Luton van. She was taken to Princess Royal Hospital in Telford but, despite the best efforts of medics, died on the same day. Jones, of Barker's Court, Madeley, Telford, pleaded not guilty at Shrewsbury Crown Court to causing death by careless driving.

A provisional trial date was set for September 16 next year with a time estimate of five days. There will be a number of hearings in the interim to prepare for the trial.1 hour agoDog walker had to dodge out of way of drink driver who crashed into garden while way over the limit1 hour agoOct 20, 2023
