Emergency services were scrambled to Liverpool Road, in Haydock, just after 4pm this afternoon . It followed a collision between a black Toyota Alphard car and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a man aged in his 60s, was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
"We are in the early stages of investigating this collision and are appealing for any witnesses, CCTV and dashcam footage which may assist our ongoing enquiries.
