Breaking: Man dies after car hits tree - and two others are arrested
Emergency services rushed to reports of a collision on Royds Avenue off Hollins Lane in Accrington just after 11.30pm last night . Two fire crews and officers from Hyndburn Police attended the incident.
Hyndburn Police tweeted last night: "We're currently at the scene of a road traffic collision at the Royds Avenue area, off Hollins Lane. We'd ask people to avoid the area and find alternative routes. We'll provide an update once the road has reopened. Thanks for your understanding."But a Lancashire Police spokesperson this afternoon confirmed a man had suffered multiple injuries and tragically died shortly after last night’s collision.
“Emergency services attended and found a man with multiple injuries. Sadly he was pronounced dead a short time later. Our thoughts remain with his family at this difficult time. “We have now launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses and any dashcam footage to assist us. Any information, no matter how seemingly insignificant or small, could assist our enquiries. If you can help please call 101 quoting log 1533 of December 10.”
