Man found dead after emergency services respond to 'concern for welfare' in city centre

A stretch of Copperas Street remains cordoned off as investigations continue. Greater Manchester Police said there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the man’s death. In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "At around 6:45am this morning , officers were called to a concern for welfare of a man on Edge Street in Manchester City Centre."Sadly, the man passed away at the scene despite the best efforts of the emergency services.
