A man has been found unconscious on a Nelson park play area after what police believe is a serious assualt.
Officers were called to the Walverden Park play area, in Nelson, at just after 9.30pm on August 9. The ambulance service had reported that they had found a man unconscious. Police believe the man, who is in his 20s, was the victim of a serious assault and are now appealing to any witnesses who may have seen the incident or have information about the circumstances surrounding the incident.A statement for Lancashire Police read: "We are appealing for information after a serious assault in Nelson. We were called just after 9.30pm on August 9 by the ambulance service to a report that they had found a man unconscious on Walverden Park Play area in the town.
"The man, in his 20s, is believed to have been assaulted and we are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the incident or have any information about the circumstances surrounding the incident. The victim was treated at hospital for his injuries but has now been discharged. "If you can help please contact 101 and mention log 1575 of August 9 2023.
