Local campaigners estimate hundreds of motorists have flouted the law at a junction in Edinburgh.

Edward Tissiman said he filmed dozens of cars ignoring the no-turn signs after nearly being knocked down at the junction.A man has been hit by a car at a pedestrian crossing which campaigners have described as "lawless".

City of Edinburgh Council said it was now making changes at the junction in an attempt to make it harder for drivers to ignore the turning ban. The civil servant told BBC Scotland: "I was really shocked and annoyed because you should be able to walk to work without getting knocked over. The post has now had more than 300,000 views and it has prompted the council and police to hold an emergency meeting.
