The M61 was closed northbound for six hours last night as LancsRoadPolice attended a crash which has seen a man in hospital with serious injuries. The car he was driving hit the central reservation and then a motorway bridge
The Focus, driven by a man from Wesham, described as being in his late teens, then went on to hit the central reservation and a motorway bridge.The driver and passenger in the Kuga, both from Manchester, suffered minor injuries.
Initial reports indicated four vehicles had been involved in the collision but police clarified only two cars were involved. Police are appealing for information and would like to hear from anybody with a dashcam or from any motorists who saw the collision or saw the Focus or Kuga moments before the crash occured.
