He told the court: “An argument took place about 7.30pm and Healy punched his partner on the face an unknown number of times - more than once.“The accused contacted the police.Mr O’Connor added: “The woman told the officers ‘He punched me. I was only trying to defend myself. I stabbed him in self-defence’.
“The accused was arrested and said ‘She tried to stab me on the neck and leg. I punched her to get her off me. Is she in cuffs?
