Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder
The victim, in his 40s, suffered serious head, chest and upper body injuries and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where police say he will require “significant medical treatment”. Officers were called to a property on Beech Terrace, Preston, at around 3.45am where they found the man injured.
Two 30-year-old men from Preston have since been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and have been taken into custody. Detectives are continuing to appeal for anyone with information to come forward.Det Ch Insp Zoe Russo, of Lancashire Police, said: “This was a shocking and brutal attack where a man has been seriously assaulted inside his own home. He has been left with some horrendous injuries and will require significant medical treatment.
“We have made two arrests but would encourage anyone who can help with our investigation to get in touch. Did you see anyone acting suspiciously in the Beech Terrace area around the time of the attack? You may be able to help us. “At this stage we are treating the offence as a targeted attack, however, we want to reassure residents and patrols have been increased.”
