A HAMMER thug chased his victim into a restaurant to attack him amid claims his son had earlier been threatened.
George Spence, 48, struck Jack O'Neill up to eight times with the weapon in Sizzlers takeaway in Cambuslang, Lanarkshire last October 29.which left the 24-year-old badly hurt including fractured ribs and a punctured lung.He pleaded guilty to assaulting Mr O'Neill to his severe injury, permanent disfigurement and impairment as well as to the danger of his life.
But, he ended up in hospital needing an emergency operation. Having lost two litres of blood, Mr O'Neill also had his spleen removed.He will be on medication for the rest of his life as well as being at risk to chest and brain infections.The hearing was told the dad claimed the attack was sparked after his son had almost bumped into Mr O'Neill in his car shortly before.He then told his dad, who apparently got out his sickbed and eventually attacked the victim.
