Suleman Altaf, who killed Jakub Szymanski after the boy heroically stepped in and saved his mother Katarzyna Bastek, has been found guilty of murder.
A knifeman who stabbed a teenage boy to death after he stepped in to try and save his mum in a brutal attack has been found guilty of murder.‘ferocious’ attack at her family home in Miles Platting, Manchester.
Jurors at Manchester Crown Court heard that Altaf and Ms Bastek had previously been in a relationship and shared a child.Jakub Szymanski was rushed to hospital but died around an hour later Before arriving at the property on Bednal Avenue, he was seen ‘walking the streets’ around the house for more than three hours wearing a baseball cap, a face mask and latex gloves.
During the trial, Altaf claimed he’d travelled to his ex’s home to talk with Ms Bastek to resolve the issue over their child. But a jury rejected his claims and found him guilty on all counts. He will be sentenced at a later date.
