Social media users who witnessed the aftermath of the incident said police were dealing with 'a large crime scene'.

The alleged attacker has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm following the incident around 10am.The victim, who was stabbed in the arm, is being assessed in hospital after being transported by the London Ambulance Service.

Police confirmed the incident was an isolated incident and it is not being treated as terror-related. There is no outstanding risk to the public. Keira Renee, a journalist at the Financial Times, tweeted: "Was just waiting in line to enter.. Being told by police that it’s a large crime scene and that the museum will be closed until tomorrow."

Camden Police confirmed a man had been arrested and said there was no outstanding risk to the public.
