Police found the man while carrying out a patrol in the area
At 4.30pm today the body was found in a section of Rock Retail Park in Birkenhead by police patrolling in the area. A cordon on Mollington Link was put in place while police conducted enquiries.
North West Ambulance service were also at the scene and the man was pronounced dead by paramedics before being taken away in a private ambulance. The cordon was removed at around 7:30pm and a post-mortem will take place to establish the cause of death.Merseyside Police have said that at this time the death is being treated as "unexplained" and the man has not been identified.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We can confirm a man’s body has been found in a section of the Rock Retail Park in Birkenhead near Wickes this afternoon . "At around 4.30pm, police patrols found body the of a man whilst searching in the area. A cordon was put in place at the retail park whilst police continued their enquiries.
"Paramedics attended and he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The cordon has now been removed and a post-mortem examination will take place to establish the cause of death.
