A fight broke out after the man and his brother confronted a group
A man has been jailed for seven years after admitting his involvement in a city centre stabbing. Conner Williams, 21, was among a group of three people who shone a laser from a car park at a man as he walked home following a night out.
The brother flagged down a police car, seconds after the attack. The emergency first aid was issued to the man. He was then taken to Queen's Medical Centre where he underwent emergency surgery.The man has since made a full recovery. The incident happened in Goldsmith Street, Nottingham, shortly before 3.30am on 2 June 2019.
He initially denied being involved but changed his pleas to guilty earlier this year. He also pleaded guilty to a second count of possession of a bladed article in relation to a separate incident on 24 November 2020. Detective Constable Ben Grayson, who led the investigation, said: “Williams is exceptionally fortunate not to have been facing a murder charge in relation to this case. The victim suffered significant blood loss at the scene and he could quite possibly have lost his life had it not been for the professionalism of all first responders involved.
