Police have issued a statement
Police were called to Cardigan Road, in the Hyde Park area of the city, at just before 3pm on Saturday, July 2. Officers were called to the street by paramedics who were concerned for the safety of a man at a home in the area.
Armed officers responded to the call and were caught on camera in Cardigan Road with one man describing the response as "like something out of the movies."Now, West Yorkshire Police have confirmed a man was "safely detained" and taken to hospital. A spokesperson said: "At 2.57pm on Saturday , police were called by the ambulance service to a report of a concern for safety of a male at a property in Cardigan Road, Leeds.
"Officers attended, along with the ambulance service, and the male was safely detained and taken to hospital for a mental health assessment."
