Manchester United head into the derby with Manchester City wary but the Reds will have given their former captain a glimmer of hope
Too often in recent years Manchester United have entered the derby clash with Manchester City in hope rather than expectation.
Unfortunately for Ten Hag's side, this season's form has done little to give United fans the boost of confidence they crave before the derby. Sitting eighth with four defeats to their name is below par and has led to disgruntlement among critics and supporters alike. Discussing the match on Sunday, Gary Neville told Sky Sports the one thing United must do to give themselves a chance of a positive result. "I will always say, on Sunday for United, if they're in the game with 20 minutes to go then they've got a real chance, just because of the crowd and the way the feeling will be in the stadium," he explained.
