But despite their pleasing season, the Magpies are keeping tabs on a number of potential recruits in their bid to boost their squad in the first full season under their new owners.Since their £300million taken over by the Saudi Arabian consortium back in October 2021, football fans been expecting them to be splashing the cash big time in the last two windows.
The Magpies brought in club-record signing Alexander Isak from Real Sociedad for £60million in the summer, as well as £35million ace Sven Botman from Lille. But Newcastle have also been shrewd, demonstrating an eye for a bargain, rather than simply chasing big names.2022’s January window proved to be a productive month too, with Newcastle bringing in Kieran Trippier from Atletico Madrid, Chris Wood, Bruno Guimaraes and Dan Burn.
