It is understood United will receive an initial £8.62m for the 30-year-old, with an additional £4.31m in potential add-on payments.The Brazil international, whose United contract expires next summer, has been told that he is unlikely to play a significant role in United manager Erik ten Hag’s squad this season.
His game time in the 2022/23 campaign was limited following the arrival of Christian Eriksen and compatriot Casemiro last summer, and the £60million signing of Mason Mount in recent weeks has pushed Fred further down Ten Hag’s pecking order.
