Erik ten Hag will probably have to play Sofyan Amrabat at left-back again for Man United's Premier League clash with Brentford.
Manchester United thought they had stumbled upon something Pep Guardiola-like when handing Sofyan Amrabat his full debut for the club at left-back. They hadn't.
While their deadline-day signing has been targeted by opposition managers and players, he has not come under that same scrutiny from United match-goers. Rightly so, too, as Amrabat has stood up and done his utmost to try and solve a problem he wasn't brought to the club to solve. As he has proven in subsequent games, Amrabat is no left-back and his success in the Carabao Cup tie - where he was able to find pockets of space between the lines - probably said more about opponents Palace and how much they were under-par in the first of two quickfire visits to Old Trafford.
