Man Utd have had a disastrous first couple of weeks of the season and with a week to go in the transfer window Erik ten Hag might have to push for more signings.

At least it is over now, bar the finalising of an actual departure for the forward, which could happen in the next seven days.What isn't over is the takeover saga, a Mancunian soap opera that looks like it wants to rival Coronation Steet for longevity.
The more pressing concern is on-pitch matters. United haven't convinced against Wolves and Tottenham so far and now injuries are mounting. Of their summer signings, Andre Onana has impressed, but Mason Mount has been anonymous before joining those in the treatment room and Rasmus Hojlund has yet to get going as he recovers from a back complaint. United were satisfied with the medical of Hojlund, but having a 20-year-old striker already dealing with back issues isn't ideal.
But with a week of the transfer window to go, it's clear United have to remain active in the market and for more than a back-up goalkeeper to replace Dean Henderson. This is a squad that still needs strengthening.
