Manchester United have been encouraged to keep hold of Scott McTominay this summer so they are not left short on numbers in midfield.
Mason Mount was brought in on a £70m deal but is now sidelined for the foreseeable future, with Kobbie Mainoo also injured. Christian Eriksen is likely to come in to fill the midfield void, although Chris Sutton believes the decision not to use Scott McTominay in the loss to Tottenham last weekend was an error.
