There have been suggestions that Sheikh Jassim – who’s vying with Sir Jim Ratcliffe to buy Man Utd from the Glazers – could walk away from the takeover process having grown frustrated at being left in the dark for so long. The Glazers first announced their desire for ‘strategic alternatives’ in November.
FFP rules will limit Man Utd’s spending no matter who’s in charge of the club but it’s claimed a further £50m would be added to Ten Hag’s warchest by Sheikj Jassim through clearing the club’s debt.
