He was found at London Euston station
A 33-year-old man from Northampton who stabbed his wife before boarding a train to London covered in self-inflicted stab wounds has been found guilty of her murder. Jurors were shown how Phillip Dafter drove to a nearby Asda to buy a new set of kitchen knives after he stabbed Diana Dafter so hard the blade broke.
Jurors were shown CCTV of Dafter then driving his car to the nearby Asda to purchase a new set of kitchen knives before returning home where Diana now lay dead and using one of the knives to stab himself several times. He then boarded the train before telling the conductor he needed to speak to police once at Euston.
But jurors decided otherwise, taking less than two hours to convict him of murder. He will be sentenced at the same court on May 19.
