Map of Manchester shows where the most deprived places are... and how our city is changing
A new map released by the Office of National Statistics struggle the most, as the cost of living crisis continues to hit families.
At the other end of the scale, the least deprived area is Deansgate and Castlefield - with only 23.3 per cent of residents living in any form of deprivation, with West Didsbury close behind . The MSOA of Deansgate and Castlefield now has among the highest number of high-rise apartment buildings across the whole of Greater Manchester.
Meanwhile, a household is defined as having health deprivation if a family member is disabled. A home labelled as household deprived means their accommodation is overcrowded, in a shared dwelling or has no central heating.
