Photos taken between 1953 and 1989 show how different Albert Square once looked
looked between the 1950s and the 1980s. Most notably, the area used to be full of cars, with the location not being pedestrianised until later on.
Many of the images also capture shops, businesses and buildings now lost forever. This includes the Manchester Music School, the Empire Grill restaurant and The Square Albert pub.
