However, if the vehicle does not meet the standards required for Ulez compliance then the charge must be paid.
Petrol cars with engines compliant with Euro 4 emissions regulations, which were introduced in 2006, do not need to pay the Ulez charge. Ulez exemptions will be in place until 2025 for community transport vehicles and until 2027 for people receiving certain disability benefits and vehicles specifically for people with disabilities.
