Fires have been raging in the popular Canary Islands tourist hotspot of Tenerife since Tuesday, with thousands evacuated
Improved weather conditions overnight on Tenerife have helped firefighters to make advances in their battle to tame the wildfires which have raged for the past five days, authorities on the island said.
Data from Nasa shows how the fires are concentrated towards the north-east of the island, having spread from the forests of Arafo. According to Ms Davila, more than 12,000 people have been evacuated from their homes since the fire started on Tuesday.
