Two women who run a support group for unpaid carers, carers and cared for are being supported by a man who has volunteered to run a half marathon to raise funds for their charity.
The voluntary organisation runs small activity groups to bring people together. They organise a range of activities and also point people in the right direction to give them the support they need. He said: “My mum in particular was really struggling and it was devastating to watch both my parents suffer in different ways, while knowing that I could only offer a part of what they really needed.
“Local businesses have been supporting us with donations for raffles so we can raise funds, they have done pamper sessions for our carers and we have just arranged a trip for our members to have lunch.
