The Money Saving Expert highlighted an problem Brits might face abroad

The money expert has urged people not to get caught out by roaming charges, especially as each company from Three and EE to Vodafone and O2 all have a different definition of '24 hours'. It could massively change the amount you end up paying while abroad, reports YorkshireLive.

"So the correct answer is, there is no definition, they are free to set it as they like. This is a really serious point because even worse, they don't define it when they send you the message. They say 'a day'. "So the inconsistency is a problem, the fact that it is communicated is a problem. Now we've written to Ofcom to say this should be standardised or at the very minimum they should be forced to communicate it in the text, the definition of a day.

As Martin stated, the text doesn't include when 24 hours starts and ends. Martin also warned about the cost of roaming and how expensive it can be outside the EU. Destinations like Turkey, Norway and of course, the USA aren't covered by EU roaming packages.
