Manchester United have not ruled out the possibility of Mason Greenwood returning to the club this summer, it has been claimed.
According to a fresh Times report, United are hoping to cash in on Greenwood this summer but may keep the striker should they not receive a reasonable offer for the 22-year-old.
Greenwood has not played for United since 2022, when he was charged with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault.The Crown Prosecution Service subsequently dropped the charges in February 2023 after key witnesses withdrew their involvement and new material came to light. Greenwood has always vehemently denied the accusations.
United launched an internal investigation into Greenwood’s conduct and said in August that both parties had “mutually agreed” that the player should “recommence his career away from Old Trafford”.
