Matt Hancock to step down as Conservative MP at next election after ITV I'm a Celebrity appearance
I’m A Celebrity… finalist and former health secretary Matt Hancock has announced that he will not stand for the Conservatives at the next general election.
Now, after returning to Westminster, Mr Hancock has announced that he will not be standing for the Conservative party.In a letter to the Prime Minister, he told Rishi Sunak: “It has been an honour to serve in Parliament and represent the people of West Suffolk. Matt Hancock has been the MP for West Suffolk since 2010. He was Secretary of State for Health and Social Care from 2018 to 2021, where he resigned after he breached social distancing guidance by kissing a colleague. Gina Coladangelo would later be seen embracing the former health secretary as he exited the jungle.
