Lara Wong, founder of Clinically Vulnerable Families support group, has been calling for reasonable adjustments to be introduced specifically to protect vulnerable people.
“It is clear that current Equality Impact Assessments are insufficient for the needs of clinically vulnerable people to protect them from airborne transmission,” Ms Wong said. “We need to recognise them as a new equality group to ensure they have the right to vote safely in person.” A spokesperson said it would “identify recommendations for changes to legislation to make improvements for future elections” and “will take into account your concerns and any evidence about the experience of voters who are immunocompromised.”
