Last modified on Sep 05, 2022 20:36 BST Phoebe Tatham The Duchess of Sussex donned a chic all-red ensemble to deliver an inspiring speech on gender equality on Monday evening. Appearing at the One Young World summit, Meghan, 41, gave the keynote address at the opening ceremony held at Manchester's The Bridgewater Hall. During her speech, the mother-of-two told young future world leaders:"You are the future… you are the present".
"I was so overwhelmed by this experience, I think, I think I even saved my little paper place-marker with my name on it. The pair took their seats centre stage as they joined One Young World counsellors to watch the flag bearers enthusiastically parading the flags of more than 200 countries. The event brings together young leaders from more than 190 countries and will provide Meghan and Harry with the opportunity to meet a group of summit delegates doing"outstanding work on gender equality".
It is the Sussexes' first public appearance in the UK since the Queen's Platinum Jubilee weekend where they attended the Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul's Cathedral.
