Sydney-based photographer Paul McDonald explores vulnerability, belonging and identity in his latest project, Study of Self, which turns the lens on himself and his friends
was born and raised in Liverpool, United Kingdom. I had a strong sense of community and enjoyed the benefits of a loving and supportive network of friends and family. However, I struggled with my sense of identity from an early age. This is when art and music become an integral part of my wellbeing and a way to process and understand myself. I would often think about where I belonged, who I was and how I should present myself to the world.
