Emergency services are on scene, according to Nottingham Travelwise, the local traffic monitoring Twitter account. Motorists have been asked to avoid the area and been told to use alternative routes.
In a Twitter post, Nottingham Travelwise said: "Queens Road East A6005 at the junction of Hassocks Lane. CLOSED in both directions due to an ongoing incident. "Emergency services are on scene. Please avoid the area, look to use alternative routes and allow extra time for your journey."As A6005 Queens Road East remains closed in both directions, traffic monitoring site Inrix says traffic is queueing due to the "accident between Lower Road and Beacon Road".Nottinghamshire Live has contacted Nottinghamshire Police for further information on the reasons for the closure. We will update this blog if we receive anymore information.
