Daniel Morgan, 37, was found in the car park of the Golden Lion pub in Sydenham, south London on 10 March, 1987. Scotland Yard has apologised to his family after documents relevant to the inquiry into his death were discovered in a locked cabinet Mr Morgan’s family, including his brother, Alastair, had launched a civil suit claiming alleged misfeasance in public office and breaches of the Human Rights Act,a £2m settlement had been agreed by the Met but the figure has not been publicly confirmed.
